Many say the best years of your life are in high school. If that's the case, then the full responsibilities of adulthood must be burdensome. But then again, there's always the ups and downs, the perpetual oscillation of glee and despair.
I gotta say, Kelvin doesn't look so stressed there. I really don't like shooting this location because no matter what, you're going to blow out the windows and underexpose everything inside. Compositionally, it's good. It's just that the Stuy atrium (is that what it's called?) sucks for photography.

I agree with Henry. Those windows makes it a bitch to meter correctly. I like the colors though. However I think it'd be better if it was shot at a lower angle, maybe when you're kneeling.
That's not me, for the record.

Agree with the above. Try maybe right around sunset (if you're still at school then), as the light can be better balanced between indoors and out.

Points well made. I agree with Henry, even with exposure compensation, the windows would be blown out. Kelvin's idea of kneeling for a dramatic angle is a great idea. Damon's suggestion works in that lighting in the afternoon is usually less harsh.

I agree with the idea of oscillation of glee and despair.. Your fine shot is perhaps like a solace...

I don't know if I agree totally with Kelvin and Henry. I try to use the atrium's massive diffused light to my advantage; however, the pictures I take do not have the windows in them.
